Start your day with a hot healthy drink like our magic turmeric tea and coconut turmeric latte.
Naval oranges: fresh juicy naval oranges are packed with vitamin c and potassium. To pick the juiciest oranges, hold them in your hand. The heavier oranges are usually juicier! Carrot: carrots are rich in health promoting nutrients like vitamin A (from beta carotene) and give this smoothie its vibrant orange color. Ginger: fresh ginger is a nutritional powerhouse. It’s a potent anti-inflammatory and gives this smoothie flavor and zing. It can be quite spicy so keep that in mind and start with a small amount. If you use organic ginger there’s no need to peel it. Turmeric: fresh turmeric root looks similar to knobs of ginger but has bright orange flesh, and earthy peppery taste. If you can’t find fresh turmeric you can use a good quality turmeric powder. Black pepper: a pinch of black pepper may seem like an odd ingredient but it actually serves a purpose. It helps make the curcumin (the active ingredient in turmeric) more available for your body to use.
Frozen banana: use half or a full frozen banana to add sweetness, body, and creaminess to this smoothie. Pineapple: fresh or frozen pineapple chunks are great for digestion and will give this smoothie a tropical taste, too. Coconut oil: a tablespoon of coconut oil helps in the absorption of curcumin in your body. The healthy fat also helps to balance blood sugar to keep you feeling full longer. Honey: if you like a sweeter smoothie, add a drizzle of honey.
