For more pretty pink cocktails, try our watermelon margarita and our strawberry basil mojito! There’s no mistaking that this is a margarita, but it is much lighter than the classic recipe. The pink lemonade adds a wonderful flavor and mellows out the booziness of a classic marg. A pink lemonade margarita is an ideal sipper for a girls’ night out, Valentine’s Day, or a sunny afternoon. It’s also easy to make in a pitcher, making it an easy party cocktail!
Raspberry Lemonade – We usually use Simply Lemonade as the price is right and the flavor is nice. But you can opt for any pink lemonade that is available in your grocery store. White tequila – White tequila, which is also known as silver tequila or tequila blanco, has a mild flavor that goes well in this cocktail. Triple Sec – This is an orange-flavored liquor. You can also use Cointreau or Grand Marnier. Lime juice – Fresh lime juice is always best as bottled lime juice has a flavor that is different than fresh. If fresh limes aren’t available, try to buy a bottle of organic lime juice as the flavor is better.
Grapefruit juice – This version was our least favorite. Just like in our grapefruit margarita recipe (which we love), we found that we needed to add lime juice to give the cocktail enough of a citrus flavor. Lemon juice – We liked this version, but it wasn’t our top choice as the lemon juice took away from the margarita taste. But if you only have lemons on hand, use them rather than make a trip to the grocery store. Lime juice – This was the clear winner. Using lime juice made this taste like a margarita and worked well with the sweet pink lemonade.
Two parts pink lemonade One part white (blanco) tequila Half part triple sec Half part lime juice
For example, you could use 2 cups of pink lemonade, 1 cup of tequila, ½ cup of triple sec, and ½ cup of lime juice.
