Rice – Long grain rice won’t be as sticky, but you can use it if that’s your preference. Beef – Choose lean cuts like flank steak or sirloin, and slice thinly against the grain for tender, easy-to-chew bites. I like to use shabu shabu meat from Costco Broccoli – I don’t recommend using frozen broccoli as it will get too mushy upon cooking. Beef Broth: Use low-sodium broth. It will add extra flavor to the rice as it cooks. Soy Sauce: Use low-sodium to control salt levels. It provides the main seasoning and balances the savory flavors. Oyster Sauce – Adds a rich, slightly sweet depth to the dish, but you can skip it if you prefer a lighter flavor Sesame Oil – Just a small amount adds a nutty, toasty aroma that complements the beef and veggies Cornstarch (optional): A slurry of cornstarch and water can be stirred in at the end to create a thicker sauce if you prefer a saucier dish.
