What you’ll need to make marry me salmon

Making marry me salmon is easy – you don’t need much (read: fewer dishes to wash up!) Gather these essentials. Note: an engagement ring is optional. I will eat this salmon for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. It is honestly that good. 💍   This is a riff off the wildly popular marry me chicken recipes we’ve all seen around the internet for the past few years. I’ve swapped out the protein as we just love salmon, and the flavors all work so well together.   After seasoning and briefly searing the salmon, it goes for a swim in the most luscious creamy sauce made with sun dried tomatoes and parmesan cheese. I like to add a big handful of basil at the end and serve it over pasta for some serious Italian American vibes.

I’ve served this with my garlic butter pasta before and the flavors are great together. But even just plain spaghetti noodles with this creamy sauce poured over top are pretty magical. A simple side salad, or even just a handful of arugula or spinach, will complete the meal.

Cutting board: I like laying my salmon out on a chopping board so I can sprinkle on the spices evenly. Paper towel: To pat the salmon dry, absorbing any excess moisture. This helps to ensure a delicious sear. Skillet: A large, non-stick pan works best to cook the salmon evenly. You don’t want to overcrowd the pan, so work in batches if your skillet isn’t quite big enough. Spatula: One to transfer the salmon in and out of the pan, and another to stir up the sauce.

For the Salmon:

There are two main components of this recipe: the salmon, and the sauce. Both use simple, wholesome ingredients – most of which you probably already have on hand. Beyond the star of the show (salmon, of course) you’ll also grab a few regulars off your spice rack and some butter and olive oil to cook with!

Salmon – steelhead trout also works very well! Garlic powder Onion powder Salt and pepper Butter and olive oil

For the Sauce:

This sauce. THIS sauce! While it’s meant to make some get down on one knee, it makes EVERYONE do a happy food dance! Considering how delicious this sauce is, you don’t need any complex ingredients – simple is best here.

Flavor: Garlic clove, fresh basil, sun dried tomatoes, and Italian seasoning provide the seasoning. Liquids: White wine, chicken stock, and whipping cream make that sauce lucious. Cheese: Finish it off with some grated parmesan cheese!

This baby has it all: it’s a dish to impress. Despite how luscious it is, it’s surprisingly easy to make. This is how to make marry me salmon:

Marry me salmon pasta recipe variations

While the recipe as written is sure to become a classic in your household, there are easy ways to change up the flavors. Here are some of my favorite variations:

Brighten it up: Add lemon zest for a bright, citrus addition. It cuts through the cream and adds a refreshing twist. A little kick: Spice things up with a bit of cayenne or a sprinkle of chili flakes. The creaminess simmers out the punch, making it juuuuuust right! Mediterranean twist: Add some Mediterranean flavors like capers, black olives, and artichoke hearts for a crave-worthy dish. Pesto: Add a bit of pesto for a delicious herbaceous finish that adds an amazing depth of flavor. Dairy-free marry me pasta: Use cashew cream instead of the heavy cream for a delicious dairy-free version that doesn’t compromise on richness! Extra veggies: Add whatever is left in the fridge! I like adding mushrooms, spinach, or fresh cherry tomatoes.
