For a bright, citrusy option, try this lemon tahini dressing or our kale tahini salad. If you haven’t used tahini before, it’s a sesame paste. This gives a consistency similar to nut butter (and is often found near the peanut butter in grocery stores) and tastes both earthy and tangy. It’s often served on its own in Middle Eastern cuisine, or you can use it as the base for many sauces, dressings, and dips – like hummus!

Why you’ll love maple tahini dressing

Tahini: This is the base of the dressing that will add a nutty flavor to the dressing. You can find this in any grocery store. Maple syrup: Use pure maple syrup for this recipe (and not table syrup) as you’ll want to taste the bold, maple flavor. Apple cider vinegar: This adds some acid to balance the dressing, however, you can substitute for another vinegar you may in your pantry instead. Fresh lemon juice is another nice option! Garlic: Finely mince a clove of garlic for a little sharpness. Sea salt: Just a pinch is all you’ll need! Cold water: Use water to thin out the dressing until a pourable, desired consistency is achieved.

Here are some ideas for how to use your maple tahini dressing:

You can drizzle this over grilled chicken or fish. Add as a dipping sauce for roasted potatoes or pan seared brussels sprouts. Drizzled over quinoa or roasted butternut squash. Substitute this tahini maple dressing and pour it over your favorite salad, like an arugula salad or this crispy kale salad with roasted beets. Use it in our tahini green beans recipe!
