Reasons to love this recipe

Healthy and filling –  Blueberries are packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and fiber, while yogurt is a good source of protein and probiotics. So easy to make with just 2 ingredients for the most basic version A fun activity to do with your child A delicious, convenient, and healthy snack to have on hand Will help stretch your blueberries – I don’t know how it is in your family, but my kids would eat all the blueberries in one sitting if I let them. So adding them to recipes is a great way to make them last longer.

Ingredients

I am highlighting just the ones that need further explanation. The complete list is in the recipe card below.

Blueberries – fresh blueberries are best for this recipe. But if you want to use frozen blueberries, be sure to thaw slightly but not fully otherwise they will be too wet. Yogurt – I like to use plain Greek yogurt as it’s thicker and has more protein. But you can use regular yogurt or dairy-free yogurt. I also recommend getting whole milk yogurt (4% or 5%) especially for young kids. Fat plays a critical role in optimal brain development. Smooth peanut butter (optional) – If refrigerated, be sure to take it out in advance so it’s at room temperature and runny. If too thick, microwave briefly to make it easier to stir. Chocolate (optional) – I like to use chocolate chips but feel free to use whatever you have on hand. Milk chocolate, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate, they will all work! To melt, you can microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until melted and smooth. Alternatively, you can use the double boiler method.

Have extra chocolate? You should totally make these frozen banana popsicles too!

Step-by-Step Instructions

Variations

Try with other fruits – strawberries (try these frozen strawberry yogurt clusters), grapes, pineapple, peaches, mangoes, kiwi, banana (these peanut butter banana bites are SO good!) Sweeten with honey, maple syrup, or date syrup Instead of plain yogurt, experiment with flavored yogurt, like this easy vanilla yogurt, strawberry yogurt, or mango yogurt. Switch up the coating – instead of peanut butter, try any nut butter like almond butter or seed butter. Want individually frozen yogurt covered blueberries? Using a toothpick, dip each blueberry into the Greek yogurt, place on baking sheet, and freeze!

Storage

Once frozen, transfer the yogurt blueberries to a freezer-safe bag or container and keep in the freezer for up to 1 month.
