Strawberry Yogurt
My son used to love plain yogurt, but now that he’s 5 years old he constantly asks for more “fun” yogurt. What he’s really asking for is sweet-flavored yogurt. And while there are endless blended yogurt options at the grocery store, they contain high amounts of added sugars. That’s why I like to purchase plain yogurt and sweeten it myself. It requires minimal effort to make this strawberry yogurt without any added sugar, and your kids will love it! You should totally try this vanilla yogurt, banana yogurt, and blueberry yogurt too! And add these flavored yogurts to your smoothies to make them creamier and more filling!
Ingredients
I am highlighting just the ones that need further explanation. The complete list is in the recipe card below.
Yogurt – I recommend using whole milk Greek yogurt (4% or 5%) especially for young kids. They need all the fat they can get to support their rapid brain development. You can also use plain yogurt. The only difference is the thickness. Feel free to swap with any dairy-free alternative, if needed. Strawberries – you can use either fresh or frozen strawberries. Most definitely use fresh when in season for best flavor. Lemon juice and zest – will help enhance the flavor of the strawberries.

Serving Suggestions (Yogurt Toppings)
Sure, you can enjoy as is. But I believe a huge part of the yogurt experience is the toppings. Here are some ideas:
Fresh fruit Dried fruit Nuts Seeds (hemp, flax, chia) Granola (try this homemade no added sugar granola) Cereal Chocolate chips Yogurt melts – The texture is similar to freeze-dried fruit and made with real fruit, beets or carrots, and yogurt. Use the code MIN5 for $5 off your order. Coconut flakes Peanut butter (or nut/seed butter)
You can also combine with creamy cooked oatmeal or overnight oats.
Storage
I like to store 1/2 cup portions in small airtight containers. That way I can easily grab one from the refrigerator in the morning along with various toppings. It will keep in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
