Healthy Mango Yogurt

There are SO many varieties of flavored yogurt at the store, and while they are convenient and delicious, just take a look at how much added sugar there is. A ton! So what’s a mama with littles to do? Make it at home! And the best part is it’s incredibly easy to do using simple ingredients. Just three of them! This mango yogurt is thick, tangy, creamy and has just the right amount of sweetness. And if you’re looking for other fun flavors, try these other easy flavored yogurts!

Add some toppings to fruit yogurt and you’ve got a quick breakfast or afternoon snack for your toddler and for the whole family.

Ingredients

Yogurt – I always have plain Greek yogurt on hand, but you can use regular plain yogurt or dairy-free yogurt. The consistency will just be thinner. I also recommend getting full-fat yogurt (4% or 5%) especially for young kids. Fat plays a critical role in optimal brain development. Mangoes – you can use either fresh or frozen mangoes. Most definitely use fresh when in season for best flavor. Unsweetened coconut flakes – This is optional BUT I highly recommend as mango and coconut are just meant to be together.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Serving Suggestions

While delicious as is, you can invite more fun and variety simply by rotating through these toppings:

Fresh fruit Dried fruit Nuts Seeds (hemp, flax, chia) Granola Cereal Chocolate chips Yogurt melts – The texture is similar to freeze-dried fruit and made with real fruit, beets or carrots, and yogurt. Use the code MIN5 for $5 off your order. Peanut butter (or nut/seed butter)

You can also combine with creamy cooked oatmeal or overnight oats. Or add a dollop to your pancakes, waffles, or baked apple oatmeal. And last but not least, turn into frozen yogurt popsicles!

Storage

I like to store 1/2 cup portions in small airtight containers. That way I can easily grab one from the refrigerator in the morning along with various toppings. It will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days.
