Why add Greek yogurt to smoothies?

By simply adding one extra ingredient, Greek yogurt, you can enjoy a smoothie that is:

Great for your digestive system as it’s a great source of probiotics Creamier and thicker Protein-packed, which will keep you fuller for longer So delicious!

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients for the basic version.

Plain Greek yogurt – The key ingredient! You can use non-dairy Greek-style yogurt, if needed. You can also use flavored yogurt, but be aware of the high added sugar content. If you have any frozen yogurt, this will be a great way to use it up. Milk – can use either dairy or non-dairy milk, like almond milk or coconut milk. Banana – be sure to use frozen banana. Here’s how to freeze ripe bananas so you always have some on hand. Hemp seeds – this is optional but will be an easy way to boost nutrition (a great source of healthy fats, protein, and fiber) and add calories to your child’s drink, if needed. You can also use chia seeds or flax seeds.

Spinach yogurt smoothie: a handful of baby spinach Strawberry Greek yogurt smoothie: ½ cup frozen strawberries (or more if you desire a much bright-colored smoothie). You will need to add more milk (up to 1 cup). Or you can add strawberry yogurt Chocolate yogurt smoothie: 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder Peanut butter banana smoothie: 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter. Tips for Success

While you can use fresh banana, I highly recommend using frozen banana for a thicker and creamier smoothie. It will also make your drink nice and cold! If you prefer a thinner smoothie, add more milk until desired consistency is reached.

Equipment

Using a powerful blender makes ALL the difference when making smoothies. You will get a perfectly silky smooth drink every.single.time! I’ve had my Vitamix for 7+ years and it’s worth every penny! I use it to make all my blender muffins, dips/sauces, smoothies, veggie nuggets, pancakes…it’s hands down my number one workhorse. And this straw cup that comes with a lid is the perfect straw drinking cup for toddlers. It also comes with a silicone cover for grip and to prevent breakage.
