If you love cranberry drinks as much as we do, also try our Christmas cranberry margarita or cranberry hot toddy! It’s easy to make and you can prepare it in advance, too. To make the cranberry syrup, simply simmer the cranberries on the stovetop with sugar and rosemary, then strain it to remove any solids. Pour the syrup into a pitcher with fresh lemon juice, orange juice, water, and ice. Then pour it into glasses, garnish, and serve. This cranberry lemonade is what we serve as a non-alcoholic drink at Christmas parties, Thanksgiving gatherings, and holiday brunches. But it’s easy to turn it into a cocktail, too. For a boozy version, add vodka either right to the pitcher or into individual glasses.
Cranberries – fresh or frozen both work equally well. Water Sugar – we use granulated sugar for this recipe. Rosemary – aromatic fresh sprigs of rosemary give this syrup lots of flavor.
Here’s everything you’ll need for the cranberry orange lemonade:
Water Lemon juice – fresh is best for lots of bright citrus flavor. Orange juice – fresh is also best but you can use store-bought in a pinch, or if that’s what you have on hand. Orange slices, lemon slices, rosemary, and frozen cranberries – for garnish.
