Nuts for almonds? Start your day with a protein-packed almond smoothie or a comforting almond butter oatmeal.
Sliced almonds: You can buy slivers of almonds, already sliced, from the supermarket. Toasting them in melted butters adds a delicious richness! Other ingredients: Butter, egg yolks, granulated sugar, whole milk, salt, heavy cream, and vanilla extract.
Here’s what to do: transfer the butter almond ice cream into a shallow pan, then pop it in your freezer for 30 minutes. After the half hour, take it out, and grab a fork. You’re going to mash everything up, scraping the edges as you go. The goal is to break up any ice crystals that start to form. Put it back into the freezer then half an hour later scrape and mix it again. Keep repeating these steps until you have ice cream. It usually takes between 2-3 hours – done! Now the only work your arms have to do is spooning it into your mouth.
