This Italian seasoning goes great in spaghetti squash shrimp scampi and Italian seasoning chicken! It’s such a versatile seasoning that it will add just the right flavor to almost anything you’re cooking. In our recipe, we use equal amounts of all the spices. The flavor is great this way and it’s super easy to scale. If you only need a little, use ¼ teaspoon of each spice. If you want to make a big batch, use ¼ cup of each spice. Easy!
Basil Oregano Thyme Rosemary Marjoram Parsley
But if you plan on making a larger batch to use regularly, it’s best to use all the spices. That’s it! How long your homemade Italian seasoning will last depends on how fresh the different spices are. If you dried your basil, thyme, oregano, etc., yourself, your seasoning blend would last for 2 years. If they’re store-bought (like ours usually are!), it will last for a shorter time. If your spices have little or no smell to them, it’s time to replace them.
